MS didnt "Fuck up this badly" with IE. As pointed out by Ian Hickson of Opera "they realised that IE was competing with their OS to be the preferred application deployment platform. Since they make money from their OS, but don't make money from IE, the choice was clear." And they stopped development on IE. Something people dont seem to realize is that the problem comes from overuse of the flexor muscles in the wrist/hand. You need to offset all this "exercise" (typing/clicking) by exercising your extensor muscles. use a rubberband around fingers and stretch the fingers outwards. or get some therapy putty, put your fingertips in and stretch outwards. A lot of the other comments here are great as well, switching mouse hands, etc. A combination of these has kept my pain in check after i started having problems a couple years ago.

There are answers to this question and more at Google Local Help including how to get your business listed and why the closest geographic locations are not listed first. To answer the US only question:

Does this work everywhere? Can I find a noodle shop in Nagoya?

Google Local only searches for locations in the United States right now. However, we plan on expanding this service to other parts of the world once we work out the kinks in this beta product. In the meantime, we recommend Miyoshiya for noodles in Naka-ku, near downtown.
