Sun has an ODF plug-in for MS Office 2000-2007. It's not like using ODF means you are forced to use OpenOffice.org.
Isn't that the point of an open format, no vendor lock-in?
I didn't know about the Logitech (MX 510) installing APE shit either.
Just checked, and I've got it too, and of course it was hidden.
damn those bastards.
Gmail was why I quit using Thunderbird.
Gmail is so good there is no reason to have a standalone email client, at least until Gmail supports IMAP and I can use standalone mail apps on both my Powerbook and Windows machine without having to manually maintain Address Books and downloaded Email.
But the problem with the "under the hood" improvements, is that they don't sell. And the other problem is, how is anyone supposed to use these new technological improvements, if they can't even get through the GUI to find them?
It works to have a designer put a page together in Photoshop and then leave it to the web monkeys. But only if that designer actually knows WEB DESIGN. Which most people seem to forget is different in many ways compared to Static Print Design.
Better to get a web designer who can code, they are far more likely to be in tune with what makes the web unique.
Never used RapidWeaver, but I second your suggestion of the rest. Having used and caused the purchase of both TextMate and CSSEdit, I can truly say they are both extremely nice tools for web design use. I also used Coda until my trial ran out on it. And if I ever need to purchase web development tools for my own use and not work, I'd definitely get Coda, you can't beat it for the price. TextMate has a crazy number of awesome text editing abilities, but is generally overkill for just X/HTML code.
I disagree with you about Doom 1, it's one of my favorite 'relax' games because its simple and fun to just blow through. Ports like zDoom and others fix things like screen resolution and add use of the mouse (which I use + WASD).
So no, its certainly not a new game, and yes it is simple, but it runs on almost all hardware I can still find, and most importantly its just plain FUN. Which is what really matters.
So why are you paying for internet again? Or do you just run bittorrent off a different network each day. Actually thats a really good idea for staying anonymous, using a different access point every day.
Does a good enough job for me, is accepted by all the major browsers, is an accepted standard, keeps content and style separate, and doesn't require as big a change from HTML transitional (tag soup) as there is going to XHTML. Not to mention that IE still doesn't handle XHTML properly, and as far as I'm, concerned, there just aren't enough reasons to change to XHTML.
Personally, if I had to buy a PC (Windows) laptop I would buy a Lenovo, because aside from being a great computer, I like the black professional looking laptops as apposed to a shiny Alienware (Alienware are great for gaming, but for a laptop I don't want to have a super shiny green laptop).
Now that is not to say that I don't want a MacBook Pro, they are very professional and clean looking, while also being beautiful.

I am really looking forward to the game Portal by Valve. It doesn't appear to have very much shooting, but it looks like a total blast to play. And SO different from any other puzzle/FPS game I have ever played.

Yay! Glad to hear I'm not the only one that does this. Although I usually leave the status bar visible.

Notepad++ Rocks. I use that as my Windows X/HTML editor. And either Coda or TextMate on OS X.

But they still forgot to actually lock the door after XP?
