When I heard what they were going to try to do with Jump to Lightspeed, and after seeing it in action, I reactivated my account. I also heard that some of the guys involved with coding the last few wing commanders are working on coding this beast, and wing commander was definatly one of the best damn piloting series that I've ever played.
Dumb and Dumber, only this is real. IGN, the laughing stock of websites among people that actually play video games and gamespy which is just as enlightening. One can only hope this merge means that they will fire everyone from both sides and start all over and actually give a review that gamers want to see instead of doing something silly like posting a list of games that they claim to be the top 100 of all time and filling it with "web site sponsor" paid for games instead of an actual decent list. Sorry for the rant, but it truely is a merge like the movie dumb and dumber. It will provide us laughter, but when it counts, it will still be useless.
I think that this is more a trend of people in marketing knowing they can make a quick buck on peoples nostalgia for the oldschool games. The only real problem I would have with buying something like this is that out of those 60 games, people have probably played anywhere from 5-15 because the other 45 or so just made you want to rip your right hand off and beat yourself up with it.
The controller is also an issue, but with all of the buttons that controllers have today, I guess its not that big of a deal.
I wonder how long till someone finds a cute little exploit in the software and all these best buy app boxes become part of some fun botnet.
