oops! You caught me. Sorry- opera is not open source. I believe it was originally based on netscape- but you are right in that it is not an open source browser. Many apologies for that mishap.
funny that you say that, seeing as msie is NOT open source- and is one of the most popular web browsers- yet it is completely lax in security- especially with ActiveX. Much of the time serious msie security flaws (such as the recent address bar spoofing flaw (http://www.zapthedingbat.com/security/ex01/vun1.h tm)) are non-existant in open-source browsers such as mozilla or opera.
why didn't nasa use solar power as some kind of 'backup' system. Sure they could have batteries too, but they could have mounted solar panels on the top of the rover to recharge the batteries when the sun is out. If they had done so, then they would not have to worry about power troubles!!!
I don't think that this is a real example. Spammers take the 'captcha's from e-mail sites, so unless the captcha provided by the email company was "enlarge your [dingaling]", your example was not real. sorry.
Obviously Microsoft does not have the intellectual capacity to come up with their own ideas, ergo, they have to revert to 'stealing' open-source ones. They've done this kind of copying before, especially with Mac. I just hope that Mozilla can still use Chrome.
check the blog- it says that the site originally said 72 miles, but now it says 82. Hope this clears things up. Maybe there was a mistake on the original.edu website which they corrected later?
It won't increase the number of open relays- it'll just make more fake ones- which is a good thing (for users)! I don't think that the spammer would include his own email in the mailings, however, or else people could easily trace who the mail came from.
