Please find this mysterious "any Free Software developer group" and ask them to fix, say, the various sprite display bugs in the DRI Project's OSS r200 driver that have made Aleph One unplayable for somewhat longer then a matter of days.

It may be fully supported, but for me, the DRI Project's r200 driver with a Radeon 9200SE has been so glitchy it's nearly unusable.

This company makes some nice 101-key keyboards. Not silent in the least, though. :)
You could also pick up a Sun. Type 5s are less flimsy, but require a RS232 adapter that you generally have to build from scratch.
