  2. ironic--republicans tend to be against censorware on View from the Censorware Trenches · · Score: 1

I've heard that Republicans tend to be against censorware because it labels them as a hate group or something similar to that. So what political parties like it?!?

  3. Re:My Kneejerk Reaction? on View from the Censorware Trenches · · Score: 1

Censorship by itself is not the only problem with censorware. There are errors that get the wrong people blacklisted. The censors have to look at every site to blacklist it. It is also a major instrument for political control. NOW's sit was blacklisted because of a discussion of homosexual rights. There are health sites blocked because of pictures of the human anatomy. The http://www.peacefire.org site was blocked because it posts cracks for the censorware programs. A bad review of a censorware program in a major PC magazine was blocked for that reason. I personally have a problem with censorship by itself also. I care what happens in Holland, wherever because it might happen to me. Who knows, someone could force me to install censorware on my home computer. I like my porn, visit PC magazine sites, and I have in some people's eyes strange politics, so that would be bad. It might still happen in Australia. It would really have to be some ISP side job.

it is heaven on earth. I have heard that ctp crashes ALOT and has no autosave. IMHO, this immediately eliminates this game. smac got rid of some of the slowness of the late game by automating a lot of it. You can make your terraformers automaticly improve your base or make roads connecting your bases for example. It has factions which are very different which means you are forced to play radicly different styles of play for each. Probably my favorite game. Kind of heavy on the science fiction, which I generally just basicly ignore. I might know what a tech gives me but not what the name is or what it does.

  5. it started with Jesus on XXX!!: Sex and Free Speech · · Score: 1

I'd say it started because Jesus freaked about a prostitute selling her goods in the temple. This was a common practice in the religions of the time. Aphrodite's temples were almost like a chain of high class brothels. Many religions of the time connected, logically, the fertility of the land with the fertility of the woman. And therefor the act which shows that--sex.

I think, therefor I am not.

William Blake--I don't know the date--early in the printing press days had to hide his porn in pictures of the Garden of Eden when everyone was naked. Otherwise his works would have been censored. The censorshilp was much more ingrained in the society.

He knows that customer service rules the web, so he works his employees hard as hell. He wants fast responses to emails and such. One guy got fired for spending too much time on a single customer--fuck quality. He expects his employees to be rah rah about this, too. He had a "slumber party" of responding to emails. Sounds like a damn dictatorship. I will use amazon to get information about a book, but I'll buy it elsewhere.

It said it had about 80 hours of play and cost about $10 an hour. That means it will cost about $800. To much for me. Hopefully, it'll mean a jump in tech for competitors and major drops in price, though. Dammit--whenever I think about jumping into a technology, a new one comes out that radically outdates it. It's awesome.

Actually Hitler had a theological excuse for wiping out the Jews. It's like the jews have always been persecuted. But they are Gods Chosen. So God must consider them "bad" to say the least. Hitler thus decided that the jews should be wiped out and replaced with his Chosen--the Third Reich.

Well, I don't know whether Linux will succeed fast enough to kill Microsoft. Look at what Microsoft is investing in. They want to move away from the operating systems. They want to own and most importantly control the internet. The internet pipes (important internet services, ISP's, high speed access) will be worth more than where those pipes lead. The OS will decline in importance. With Sun, Microsoft had to put off their gaining power and did so by negating the attractiveness of java by making the issue more confusing and not work as well by putting out a non compatible version
