  1. Re:Economical? Brilliant on AgroWaste to Oil a Growing Market · · Score: 1

I must nod in deference to thermodynamics as I point out that a primary energy source is being forgotten: the animal feed. Sure, use turkey guts or sewage or whatever, but you're ultimately harnessing solar energy through photosynthesis. Turkeys eat (I presume) grain of some sort as part of their feed. The hydrocarbons (err, carbohydrates) that make up much of their offal came about through photosynthesis, whereby the polymer chains were elongated and molecular bonds formed. This process just breaks those bonds down into a more readily ignitable compound: oil. The sun already did the heavy lifting (and pulled carbon out of the air to do it). No energy is created in this process; molecules are re-arranged such that they will more readily release the energy already stored therein. An absoultely brilliant solution, in my book. I could be wrong.

The result would be that nobody would campaign there.

What about Badnarik? Nader? Any of the other third-parties? I promise you that these guys would be all over Colorado. They might just snag an electoral vote or two. If Badnarik snagged an Electoral Vote it might be the Libertarian party's first, and it would certainly draw attention to their cause. The big parties are only moderately interested in us now, who cares if they spend less time campaigning here. If every state was this way, do you think they'd just stop campaigning? Do you think the candidates would visit California if it divided it's EVs proporitionally? You bet your ass they would.

I take serious offense at the slur in the opposition's charter, but I agree that the implementation is flawed (and I've come to expect ad hominem attacks in today's political climate). I think this is a very good idea, but the law shouldn't be written to affect the same election in which the bill is adopted. I intend to vote in favor of this bill, and atleast if Colorado fucks the election like Florida did, they can't possibly elect all of those responsible to the US House like Florida did, (Ms. Katherine Harris? Do they pay you well?).

I take it you've never been on I-25 north of Denver? I regularly push 130 on that road (in my Audi... no prick on the inside, to paraphrase the old joke). It's really quite amazing that I'm still alive, but I do rather enjoy my life at 65 over. P.S. If I'd known this would be modded +4 Insightful instead of -23 flamebait offtopic etc., I wouldn't have posted A.C. I'm a karma whore without karma...
