Since when can you partition and install VMS on an x86 pc? What about TRS Dos? Does CP/M even run on anything newer than a 286? Any unix head will tell you Windows (bastardized CP/M style) has a less useful command line than OS X (BSD unix style).

Jeeze, get over yourself and go try a mac. Things have changed a lot. I admin NT and Unix machines for a living and I use a powerbook at home for my main desktop. My athlon and celeron still run linux and windows fine too, despite the powerbook's presence.

However, if you use os x just stick with the stock ftpd since it's not wu-ftp. Like I said earlier, the bug wasn't with the ftpd, it was a library call. Just run software update and get on with your life.

No, apple didn't use wu-ftpd, give them some credit, they used lukemftpd. Originally from netbsd I believe.

The realpath() function from bsd calculates the length of a resolved directory path. The problem is an off by one error. It actually affects more than than just an ftp deamon since it's a library function, just like the gzip vulnerabilty a while ago. See the sans report for more info.

3 days from disclosure to security update is pretty good though.

A bic lasts you 2 weeks? Wow, you must have some fine hair. My beard destroys a bic in a few days. I can get almost a week out of a mach 3. Not to mention a bic doesn't get close, and it iritates my skin even worse than a mach 3.

That's all moot since I switched to electric a few years ago. A new set of blades for it once a year ($30, medium priced norelco) and I'm good to go. Another reason to use electric is a regular razor, even a mach 3 causes my neck to really break out. Electric doesn't. As for the iritation and the closeness, you need to use an electric for a month untill your face gets used to it. Then electric is as nice as a razor most of the time.

The only drawback is if I don't shave for a couple days, the electric pulls hair a bit. That's not bad since I usually shave daily, and cuts will happen with a regular razor at least a couple times a month.

Ok, when you use mac os you don't really need 2 buttons. It's a myth, in windows and unix you NEED 2 buttons, in mac os you don't. You 190cs should have NO use for a 2 button mouse at all (unless you run some heavy duty apps, but i doubt that), apple didn't introduce control clicking (right click in windows) until OS 8 I believe. I doubt your 190cs is running 8.

Personally I mostly use mac os x gui apps along with terminals to unix boxen. I've had no real need for a 2 button mouse. When the powerbook is on my desk i have a 2 button scrolling mouse that works fine. The 1 mouse button 'toy' has replaced my unix and windows machines as my main machine. Despite having a slower processor. As I said in another comment, the only thing about a 1 button mouse on a powerbook is that it sucks if you're left handed (control clicking is a stretch due to the lack of a control key on the right side).

Also, this keyboard also acts as a mouse. Using gestures you activate the mouse mode and different tap combinations act as various mouse presses. You can even scroll with a gesture. It looks pretty slick.
