  1. He has got it all wrong... on Apple Platform Lock-Ins, A 3rd Party Dev's Opinion · · Score: 1

The writer is assuming that Apple wants to tie iPhone to a single carrier and wants a piece in the carrier's profit. Both these assumptions could be completely wrong. First of all, a company like AT&T will never give a share of its revenue to Apple. More so, the subscription plan of iPhone is relatively so cheap (unlimited internet access), that I think, Apple must have bargained for a cheaper subscription plan for iPhone with AT&T. Now about tying up to single carrier, Apple would never have surely liked this option for its iPhone. Apple will surely earn more revenue if iPhone is sold with more number of carriers. This is something AT&T must have bargained hard with Apple in return for providing features like list of voice-messages and Wifi (AT&T could have disabled it on iPhone).

  2. Buyers of this toilet on Ladies and Gentlemen, the Electronic Toilet · · Score: 1

I could imagine that : 1. The first buyers of this toilet would be the luxury hotel chains, who usually have nothing worthwhile to advertise to their customers, and so they talk about the automatically numbered beds, or warm toilet seats. 2. The second buyers of this toilet would be the people who go to these hotels often that they are used to these toilets. And that includes the celebrities who would have just received lot of money on their albums and who dont know what to do with that money. 3. The third buyers would then be the common people who want to copy these stars and believe that they have good life. Ok, I will now go to my rightly numbered bed.

  3. The satellite was destroyed on Indian Satellite Lost in Launch Explosion · · Score: 1

It is not mentioned much in news, but the satellite was destroyed by security officer present there after the satellite veered off its trajectory. This was done to save possible loss of life in heavily populated regions near the launch site.

  5. Great effort on India Hits Back in 'Bio-Piracy' Battle · · Score: 2, Interesting

As the article has already mentioned that some of the traditional medicines are extensively used in India, this encyclopedia will enable people from the whole world to know about these medicines. Imagine searching on internet for a medicine for common cold or diabetes and finding couple of traditional remedies. People can leave their feedbacks and ratings of the remedies after they have tried them so that others can benefit too. Some of these medicines can be made at home using tea or neem leaves. They can be thus tried at home (and people need not go to an aurvedic doctor to get the medicine to some remote location in India). The good thing about natural medicines is that they do not have side effects. One can just try them and if they don't work try some other medicine. In US, it is interesting to see that even a small common cold medicine will have side effects as depression, nausea, liver failure, etc. I think as the health cost in US rises, more people will benefit from alternative of traditional medicines.
