The Electronic voting machines (EVM) in use are not connected to the central server. They just store the count of votes on some sort memory chip that the Election office has to get to a counting station to get the votes counted.
Besides it will take some skills to fool the EMV, muscle power won't play its traditional role.
These device is made my Electronic Corporation of India Ltd. And they say the device is pretty secured. Its been use for 10 years now but never on this large scale.
