    Fired up my 1989 SparcStation 1 the other day. Quite an impressive machine for pre-1990. I certainly would have liked 40MB of RAM back then.

    Couldn't have said it better myself.

    An OS that only sucked a little bit, was made to suck almost 40dB more simply by being ported to the intel platform.

    And the cool thing is, all but one of your disks are used for data. So with a 10 disk RAID5, you get the capacity of nine drives, 10% redundcancy.
