What a lovely utopian society you live in! The islamic fundamentalist groups want one thing and one thing only. To convert us to fundamental Islam, or to kill us if we don't convert (us = "the whole of the free western world"). It doesn't matter who invades who, it's just the way it is. It's part of their religion. They could blow the US to smithereenies, and that wouldn't stop them. Not until the ENTIRE WORLD worships Allah.
I noticed that GA caused Yahoo Messenger (latest version) to take forever to connect. That was unacceptable to me, so I uninstalled Google. When using GA, I didn't notice an appreciable difference in surfing speeds, anyway.. After using for around 6 hours, I was up to a whopping 3 seconds of savings. (buckeye-express cable modem). While I find Gmail to be an excellent product, I'm not so sure about GA. Maybe Google missed the home run with this one?
That is the whole point. The RIAA doesn't have the right to "police" anything. They are not a law enforcement agency. Geez, some people around here act like the **AA is some sort of 4th branch of the government. It's not. It's a union, like the UAW, the Teamsters, the IBEW and the like.
I knew a few strippers in the 80's around Clark AB, Phillipines, that just loved coins. They'd stack them up on a bottle, insert them, then make a game out of counting change with their very trained and talented muscles for the crowd. If they counted your change correctly, they kept your money (and your change). If they were off by a single Piso, you kept your money and your change. They hardly ever missed! What Pu&&y control! (Sorry ladies, I couldn't help but relive the old days....)
I have had all kinds of problems with PayPal. I used that service to purchase some ringtones for my cellular phone. They billed my savings account 3 times for the same purchase, and deducted the money(it's set up strictly for PayPal). After complaining to PayPal's customer service, I was told that I had to prove to them that they had done such a thing. Since the account is only for PayPal, I don't keep extra in the account. It ended up costing me $25 in overdraft fees (the bank deducted from my checking, and billed me for that) I ended up having to put a stop payment on PayPal so it wouldn't happen again. I did fax PayPal the info, proving that they had made a mistake, sent emails, made phonecalls, and it still isn't resolved. It's been about 9 months. It's only a couple of bucks (minus the overdraft fees) so I don't think PayPal is very concerned.. PayPal SUCKS.... And I will never use the service again.
Get it right.. It all goes into Michigan's general fund. It pays for road repairs, snow removal, and the salaries of the people that are sending out the tax bills...
I really hate to see this modded down to -1 Flamebait, as it is so enlightening. But, someone will.. For those of you who do- May George W. Bush have mercy on your soul. (as pointed out that he is god by an earlier poster)
Fished, I need to add you to my friends list.... Some needed enlightenment in an otherwise vast sea of Slashdot Liberalism.
I'll go on the record that I am proud of our president. I personally believe that he is doing a much better job than John Kerry. Before you call me a religious nutball, let me clarify that I am an agnostic, and from one of the few blue counties in an otherwise red state. Yes, I am a conservative, and have been since the 80's. Let the flames begin!
Also allow Kalifornians to sue the script kiddies that infest their machines with bots? If so, it might make those malcontents think twice about passing their trojans along.. Nah, it won't.
I have been using yes@no.com for many years.. There isn't a no.com, so no one is getting my spam. I started doing it when I had to register for RealPlayer for the second time.. They sent so many messages (and sold my email addy to so many people) that I had to close my first email address.
It seems to me that any MP3 encoded at 128K seems hollow and thin in the middle ranges (vocals, guitar, ETC.) and the bass is too heavy. They might be OK for listening to that 15,000 watt sub you have in the trunk of your car, but for the home stereo, they just don't sound good enough.
I sometimes do.. But let's get it right here. The kids do not go to school from 9 to 5:30. It's more like 8 to 2 (6 hours) So, let them have 2 hours worth of homework.
I've done a couple of puzzles where EVERY piece is the exact same shape. You have to build the puzzle matching the picture. It makes it more difficult.
I've also assembled puzzles upside down, not using the picture at all...
You want to spend time cursing while building puzzles, try one of the 3-D ones..
This is impressive in my book. 100 pieces out of 5x5mm?
Yes, I guess my age makes a difference, being just shy of "over-the-hill". I can remember when some of the first rap songs came out (MC Hammer, The Fat Boys, and I hate to say it, the Beastie Boys), and I really enjoyed them. Now? Sorry...
Maybe my taste in music has changed somewhat (I have recently downloaded songs played on the glass harmonica, along with some tracks from The Asylum Street Spankers and Jim Croche). Now, the question I have is-- What does it matter if you are a musician or not to personally believe that music recorded recently isn't good? Don't tell me that you have to be professionally trained for your opinion not to be automatically dismissed?

I think old Janet would help her album reach # 1 on the charts. If you were listening to the news today, it didn't. The album just isn't that good. I can't think of a single band that has come out in the last 5 years that made me even consider purchasing their album. I take that back, there was one, and I bought it. If the entertainment industry would release music that I liked (not the cookie-cutter hip-hop or teenybopper top 40) I would consider purchasing. If your product is bad, don't get mad that no one wants it!
I believe most of the state laws do not require you to take a 30 minute unpaid lunch.. What they require is that the employer offers an unpaid lunch. If the employer forces you to take it, you must. I have worked at a place that only offered the lunch period.. Kinda nice, since I don't normally eat lunch anyway.
If you are really rural, I hope you have better luck than I did out in "God's Country" with getting a reliable internet connection. I was so far out that there were NO local ISP's, the local telco only promised 9600 baud (and that is about all I got), wireless internet didn't reach the area, no cable, and satellite is just too darned much money. You don't realize how much you will miss your high speed connection till it's gone......
If P2P causes the music industry as a whole to lose revenues, shouldn't that happen during not only the "lean times", but the "fat times" as well? Evidently, P2P doesn't affect the industry as much as some (RIAA) claim?
It's not the landing that is difficult.. Most creatures just cannot handle the sudden stop at the end.. The stop normally brings on one of two conditions.. Concrete poisoning, or deceleration sickness.....
BTW, first post...

Thanks a fricking lot for this comment! Now I have to get a new keyboard (as the Pepsi I was drinking sprayed out of my nose when I read it!!!!!)

A game based on running around, picking up guys flying white flags wouldn't be very fun, would it? Sorry, I couldn't resist!

America Off Line AOL is a business- They can block whatever they want.

Won't this just end up like every other show about lawyers? Sex, Lies, and more sex..
