    i live 15 miles from the nearest city and cannot get cable or DSL. the only service choices are satellite or verizon air card. neither of those options provide enough bandwidth for any type of streaming.

    While that maybe true. SBC now AT&T Inc. have 60% control of Cingular, which bought AT&T Wireless. Bellsouth owns the other 40%.

    some other companies that make duplicators are Rimage and Amtren(Discmaker Elite Series). Amtren was once working on an automated ripping solution but it went nowhere.

  4. DSL over fiber on Verizon - No DSL Over Hybrid Copper/Fiber Lines? · · Score: 1

    I work for Lucent Technologies and BellSouth has had us to install DSLAM shelves in their cabinets. They also installed OC-3 in these same cabinets. They plan on using the copper from your house to the cabinet for the DSL and then crossconnect the DSLAM to the OC-3 to get you back to the CO. Bellsouth is having problems with the conversion between the DSLAM and the OC-3 though. I don't know if that is something that might happen in the future to fix your problem but you could always ask about it.
