Lisa: “Nuke the whales”? You don’t really believe that, do you?
Nelson: I dunno. Gotta nuke somethin'
Lisa: Touché.
-The Simpsons, “Lisa’s Date With Density”
Well, I'm glad that you think of me as an intellectual. As to missing the truth, I never said that we ("we" as a people, not "we" as in you and me) were any more reasonable, intelligent or otherwise enlightened than this, somewhat ambiguous, enemy. And if, as you seem to suggest, that the best solution is to sink to the level of the lowest of the low in order to defeat those who hate us, then I'm afraid that you've contradicted yourself.
By the way, fear is the breeding-ground of hate. Simply getting your enemy to fear you is a sure way to get more hate directed at you. Governments have toppled (violently) because they thought that they could rule with fear.
What about those of us who can't even start their day without reading slashdot? I usually need somewhere between 6-7 fixes a day. It's frustrating; everyone always complaining that my fingers smell like nerdy news, the green stains on my teeth. It's a real problem.
I agree, Jobs HAD to know this would happen. I think everyone did the moment that it was rumored. I don't see how Apple can hold people legally accountable for something that they should have predicted. Unless they were just fishing for lawsuits all along, but that's not very Apple-ish.
I agree. I feel that even the most menial chore can be done artistically. And there is a certain "art" to making code elegant and functional. The same applies to math, science and other highly techical things.
"Slashdot has a tech-savvy audience that, to be kind, is mischievous and to be not so kind, is malicious"
I think that most of the "tech-savvy" would be a little more creative than profanity. Such as an elaborate joke involving monkeys, chicken-wire and a bottle of tequilla. And the only one to rightly consider us malicious would be the monkey.
I think what they are saying is that he made up results to experiments, not the data that fueled them. And after his "activities" I'm sure it does not now matter if he has a PhD or not since he will now be working at McDonalds.
Are they(NASA) suggesting that oceans worth of water exists now only as hydrates and the like? I hate to be the critic, but "the planet soaked it up?" They're going to have to do a little better before I get excited.

I couldn't agree more. It's not a game, It's a joke.
A war won, is still diplomacy failed.

...or the pro-lifers may kill you.
"Those who would sacrifice essential liberties for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin Smart man.
I'm not saying that the theif was not wrong, but that you should have known better. also, the osX on x86 thing is a far cry from theft.

When did you lose your ideallism?
Silly person, stupidity never ends. Where ever you go there is always a limitless supply of stupid. If only we could power cars with it.

I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I feel a piece of sausage really musics to me.

What happens when the paint inside the computer starts to peel and flake off? I don't think fasion warants an explosion. It's still cool though
