Dale's article is from October 22, 2015. Changing to opvaults appears to have addressed the issue, which was with metadata and not actual password data. Just sayin'.
I thought it was just me! Over the Christmas holiday last year my Palm's battery died. My backup, which was current, scarcely recovered half the data. I still haven't gotten around to rebuilding it and I can't say as I miss it all that much. In fact, the only thing I do really miss is the e-books but I prefer the paper (read - NO BATTERIES) kind. I think I'll just wait until Apple comes out with the iNewtPod before I buy another.
We picked up a Canon S10 just before Christmas and I'd recommend it highly. I've been frankly astonished by the quality of the images, having worked with several other digital cameras over the past couple of years. Printing on an Epson 740 on glossy paper is as good or better than photos you get from a regular photo-finishing place. True, it doesn't have interchangeable lenses and stuff but it's small enough to put in your shirt pocket! Here's a good review.
Dune was a fine film??? I liked it so much I haven't watched a Dino de Laurentis film since! I'm looking forward to the mini-series in the hope that it's no worse than the big screen version. In the mean time I think I'll just dig up the books again...

+1 for 1Password
You could, of course, use ROT26. That should be TWICE as strong.

Leave it to Michael Dell to be at the cutting edge of innovation (as long as Apple was there first;-)
