So our intended sarcasm is having a hard time shining through, eh? That's the nature of quick posts online and emails. We think one thing and type another. We need a white list THOUGHT conversion for the browser interface as well... a much more complicated undertaking.
I'm always glad to see good press about the use of the wiki. I hope to develop my site http://www.wikiweb.org/ as a showcase for using wikis in education. Anyone interested in helping me get this up and running?
The majority of *my* Legos never made past the following:
The void under the couch cushions, family dog (think chewed or untouchable...), vacuum, the day I took a few Legos outside, that heating vent in my bedroom, road trip to the east coast, your younger brother, superglue, hacksaw, driveway gravel, and "lending them to a friend."
What first hit me wasn't that he caught someone trying to bootlegging the movie, but that he was using night-vision goggles in a darkened movie theatre in the first place.
What was he looking for (watching)?
High school kids making out?
Time to measure the "creeping me out factor"...
How many projectionists watch their patrons?
I'm an elementary technology teacher for
Berkshire Local Schools in NE Ohio. We gladly accept donations of all sorts of used equipment.
Sometimes we get decent machines, sometimes we get junk. Many
of our classrooms have 486's and donated computers get
put into service quickly. We have an official "moratorium
on purchases of new technology equipment" again for
the 2004-2005 school year.
I've found that creating
a
Cleveland computer donation page helps inform prospective donators about what we accept.
We offer documentation for corporate write-offs. I keep in touch on a regular basis with those people who have made donations in the past. I monitor eBay for heavy items in the local area that need to be picked up and thus are less likely to sell. I keep an eye on my local FreeCycling
page.
Perhaps the easiest way to accept donations is by
recycling
cell phones and ink cartridges. This program costs
us nothing, teaches students the value of recycling and provides our district
with additional technology items.
Contact me with additional questions or items to donate.

That would be because the ".kids.us" influence family purchases to the tune of $500 billion/year.
Moral: Don't be fooled by greedybusinesses.kids.us.
