It might seem Google is fighting for sanity, but really all they care about is their bottom line. Tomorrow they might be lobbying on behalf of stuff that is negative for users. When competing commercial interests fight, what happens to the little guy?
You might say it's great if Godzilla and Kong fight it out, but remember, either of them might squash you without even noticing!
This is a pretty lame article that's just capitalizing on Apple's currently being in vogue. The type of lazy journalist that inhabits these mags won't ask tough questions like why is Apple not jumping on the chance to dual boot OS X and Win XP and capture the Intel market
The dynamic duo of Paypal and EBay is probably the biggest source of continuous online scams around. EBay's policies for rectifying a fraudulent sale are absolutely ridiculous. We once put on a multiple item sale and a user whose account was hacked bid on all of them. We were out something like $150 on multiple transaction fees.
Did EBay do anything when we reported it? NOPE!
And Paypal payments are not protected despite any reassuring sounds they make. We used to sell on EBay but have stopped, in part because of the risk of getting scammed big-time and not being able to have anything done, either by Paypal or EBay.
For those of you considering setting up shop online, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER Paypal. They don't have any security features like the physical 3 digit code on most credit cards nowadays, and their policy of freeze-account-first, ask questions later is a joke

This is terrible. For a business like ours that could only exist because of the public domain this is a sad thing to see. We were planning on introducing 1984 soon and shipping it only to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, but this cuts the market down for it even more.
Isn't it amazing how totally unqualified people have a chance at a well-paying job writing this tripe, but that guy who maintains the 2.2 kernel is unemployed?
Is this the same Tom Lantos who voted to authorize the use of military force against Iraq in an illegal, immoral and genocidal war? http://www.vote-smart.org/issue_keyvote_member.php ?vote_id=3202
Is this the same Tom Lantos who thinks Israel is justified in killing Palestinians and stealing their land?

they shouldn't be writing an article like that.
