At first look I thought that "...and Boring" was a post in reply about how useless and boring the root post "Useless" was. Then I realized that you replied to your own post.... does this mean that you see that you are boring? It does seem to be that way when you reply to your own post and say "this post was pretty boring too."
Hey, Carl, Let's keep to messages with a point on Slashdot, could we? Or atleast read all of the stuff about how these numbers are not scientific, just funny?
I had to laugh when I saw the numbers, and laugh more at how upset people were that it can't be true... But I'm wondering just how many High School kids are going to use these numbers for an essay? I know I would have done it since I ran out of good topics after a few essays and Thomas Nash's Littany in a Time of Plauge isn't the kind of thing you want to write about in *every* English class.
Ah yes.... and keep in mind that 24.56% of all statistics are just made up on the spot to suite whatever someone needs. Also, don't forget that smoking is one of the leading causes of statistics.
I second that motion. How about we retire those older-then-dirt links on the right side of/. with some interesting and more noteworthy links. Or we could tell the truth and have it say "Perhaps you were born yesterday and you are seeking Jon Katz's series of articles related to 'recent'... "
It seems to me like this person is just asking: How about if we make something... circular.. we may even call it round.... And maybe someone out there has a thin thing we could put 2 of these "round" things on at both ends, and then I think it would be a great idea to combine several of these systems to produce something that would move. I call this movement - rolling.
Is this guy Al Gore? If he's not, is he going to come up with some idea about a large network of computers across the globe? I think this guy just needs to learn how to search for things before he goes off asking. Then again, why does Roblimo think that this is something new?
Yeah, it seems to me that after all of this guys work and ideas are put into developing a compilier for all of his languages (this usually just means C and possibly C++) he will end up with Ada.

BTW, please, don't go on forever...

The idea is so old, CNN even has a story on it. And we all know how long it takes the mainstream just to acknoldlege these things exist.
