So if I paint a picture of something that is free to everyone then my picture should be free also? What about the labor that went into creating the picture. I happen to draw portraits for a living. If someone wants me to draw their portrait, that doesn't mean I have to give them the picture because it's a drawing of their face either. I'm providing a service and deserve compensation for the labor involved. I would be upset if my pictures were on display at an art show, and someone took a picture of it to use on their website. If they're going to make money off of my art then why can't I.

I guess that means that I should dump all this spyware, because all the hackers are doing is planting trojans so they can track me and unload SPAM to try and "sell me stuff"

I remember back when I was a senior in high school. One of my classmates asked me what time it was. I replied, " there's a clock right there". Then he said, "I can't read that one". I couldn't believe that a person couldn't tell time at his age. There are so many gadgets that prevent people from having to think too much (digital clocks, calculators), or do too much that everyone is getting lazier and lazier. I've seen some of my friends panic if their lights go out, because they'll starve not being able to open cans without their electric can opener. People find it easier to eat out than cook for themselves. It's no wonder the United States has a high level of obesity. All this convenience has made us lazy, stupid, and fat.

"Of liberty I would say that, in the whole plenitude of its extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will. But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual." --Thomas Jefferson
