What took them so long? I mean it's not rocket scie... Oh wait.

  2. Re:Quickie Slashdot Poll... on Ballmer Says iPod Users are Thieves · · Score: 1

1.. 60% 2.. 0% 3.. 0% 4.. 30% 5.. 10% Fact is I live in a small town, even if the record shop is open it is unlikely to have what I want in stock, so I tend to download it. I know it's copyright infringement but I can't justify paying the extortonaite prices which give little to the artist and more money to the execs to 'lpug' their latest manafactured band. Instead I go to as many music concerts as I can on my funds, I did eight last year.

  3. Re:Is it REALLY a bad thing? on Britain is the World's Surveillance Leader · · Score: 1

It is a bad thing in that it gives a perceived sense of security. Despite Britain being the CCTV capital crime rates there are rocketing that Britain is performing worse out of all European countries. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3669407.stm Cameras don't stop crime, they are only an aid to police detectives finding the culprits afterward. Joao Da Costa Mitendele was murdered so some guys could rob his house, ok they caught the guys that did it afterward because of CCTV but that I am sure that is of little compensation to the victims family. Perhaps Britain needs to rethink it's policy against homeowners defending their own property rather than sticking up more useless cameras.

  5. Analog Vs Digital Watches on Ten Technologies That Refuse to Die · · Score: 1

I once took a short coure on heurology (sp) I was told my the course trainer that digital watches were popular only as a fad. He said the only thing that technology had done for modern analog watches was the power, instead of winding a spring most modern analog watches use a battery to provide power, other than that little has changed in decades. An example I think of 'they got it right first time'
