basically, in the end, what "dell has to offer" is trivial compared to the awesome power of the ipod marketing. Has anyone seen the new ipod spot they made for wwdc? I must say, it pretty much wraps up how while they don't have a monopoly, they do very much so control the market right now. "bring it on" indeed.
Well, in regards to IR being better, try having your phone put away in your bag and dialing out.. HA! and in all further regards, I agree, Apple of course knows what to put in their product, and I don't see such a relativly unexploited medium for data transfer dying so quickly. If it does... it's not like my mouse is going to stop working:)
to everyone who has a g5 and didn't sign up for the World of Warcraft beta, shame on you. The system specs for the beta are basically a new g5 or g4 with panther. World of warcraft will not only be the best mac game ever... but the best game in general. Let's hope it's not the last from blizzard.
If power really is a concern, you might consider waiting until WWDC in june. Typically Apple rotates powerbook lines every 8 months, which will be up in june. Also, with the release of the new xserve g5s at still 1U, it just makes sense for them to port their new processor into the powerbooks. These machines, while most likely pricy, will definatly pack a punch, and if still made of aluminum, will most likely burn a hole in your desk. The FP specs on even a single 2.0 g5 i'd imagine [mostly speculation] would perform right up with, if not higher than even the new 17-inch toshiba monstrosities. [3.0 p4s with HT] Good luck, buy apple.
