  1. what is going to happen on New Documents Shed Light on Microsoft's Tactics · · Score: 0

from what I can see, MS is trying to make money, while other people try to sue them (again and again). very soon their product need to raise to cover their cost, at the end, the general public will have to pay more for the product. Is it a good thing? we don't know yet... it could cause more diversity on OS when pepole start thinking about other less expensive option. :)

  2. think again... on Microsoft Rereleases Patch to Fix Problems · · Score: 0

Ms fix their problem in 24 hours? First thought to my mind is that, they have improved... it seems...

but think again, they have been criticize by people all over the world (well, maybe most part of the world) that they are slow-ness of their bug fix. Could that just be a marketing plan? They found the bug, they get the patch ready, then tell the world about the bug. In less than 24 hours, they release the patch.

    Well, just some thought

adding monitoring to a file sharing program (or any program) would that catagorize as spyware? And the goverment is going to force that on us, because they assume everyone who use file sharing program sharing music? just some thought.

TAYLOR: I would actually look at a similar construct but a different answer. You have to ask one of two questions. Is it either a) Windows is priced too high, or b) are we offering the right product at the right price point? We position Windows server as a multifunction server that does a variety of things. So in some ways, we've got a McDonald's No. 5 super-size offering that costs $2.99 and someone just wants a Diet Coke that costs 99 cents. So do we cut the entire super-size No. 5 down to 98 cents, or do we try to find a way to just give somebody the Diet Coke if that's what they want?

with the same comment, I actually have quite a different view. the king size meal that MCD provide is quite an unhealthy one, not to mention when you only want a diet coke, they force you to have all the fries and burger that you don't want at all, but you have to eat it all down

while the guy in the next shop who is just giving away the formula for diet coke (assuming that he have right to do so, just want to get my point across), also everyone down the street give you recipe on how to make different kind of food for free, not to mention that you can choose what you want. also there are someone who is willing to cook those for you, for a small price

Which one will you pick? I know what I want, do you?

hmm... now I wonder, are they not welcome me to buy a their licence? Since they refused to sell me the licence, I guess I will have to go without it.

  6. the impact on MPAA Prevails Against 321 Studios' DVD X Copy · · Score: 0

if the "decrypting" prart is rule illegal, then most likely the MPAA will try to chase every software company that create such software.

soon or later, this will effect open source programs. Also, will that effect people who make software that can view DVD? Because if the content is "encrypted", the software developer have to know how to "decrypt" it to get the content to play. Am I making any sense?

The real problem would be if only bad guys had your source code .... that would really suck.

now we just have to see how suck it would get for microsoft to leak the source code. I am waiting for a major outbreak of exploit and or virus, worms. By that time, I will be sitting in front of my computer and laughing at what A. Russell Jones had said (and microsoft as well) about the which is the ground for foul play.
