  2. It is called work for a reason... on Pay vs. Happiness · · Score: 2, Interesting

They call it work for a reason. If it was "fun" to be at work, you would be paying them to be there. :) Sometimes jobs fit different periods of your life. The high stress, high travel job might be good for a young professional with no family yet. Once your responsibility to others increase, your job needs might change. I might be perceived as good to give your children an Ivy League education, but is it worth it if you missed all or many of theirr basketball or soccer games? Would they even know you? A balance is good. I am sure some people can produce High income and have time to be with their family. Good for you. But for the rest of us, this is not possible. Life is not a dress rehersal, this is the real thing. Spend some of your opportunity cost on living. :) -Nick

  3. Leapfrog + Tivo on Blowing TiVo's Lid · · Score: 1

using the Leapfrog wireless A/V transmitter http://www.smarthome.com/7656.html and wireless internet, I have done some wonderful tings with my tivo... The leapfrog has a wonderful picture but does not support HD. It broadcasts through a cinder block wall very well. It also broadcasts outside my house. The tivo box stays where the Coax connection is. ;)

  6. Re:US votes? - Land Needs Representation on Europeans To Monitor American Voters · · Score: 1

To people, land is as important as food and water, especially in a capitalist Nation. This land needs representation, otherwise certain states could become powerless, and a mass exodus of what few people who live there to more populated areas with more say, would take place. Having a desolate central city is not good to the city as a whole, nor would it be good to have a neighboring state be a desolate, lawless dumping ground. Power needs to be distributed. Maybe not equally, but look at the House of Representatives, distributed by population, the Senate, 2 per state. Since the Sun Belt is becoming more and more populated, would it be right for the people of Arizona to pipe water from Lake Michigan to irrigate their golf courses? Land is a fixed resource; they are not making any more of it! It is arguably THE most valuable resource.
