    I think that too many of us haven't given thought to the fact that a realistic AI would practically destroy certain games such as shooters, as we know them. If every baddie in the game was as smart as you just how well do you think you'd do being outnumbered 1000-1. A zombie would be hard enough but taking on an intelligent cyberdemon with ten times your strength and a rocket launcher for an arm? Not a chance. Just how long do you last in a deathmatch online anyway? About a minute? Well, this is about how long you'd last facing an extremely intelligent AI system in a game like Doom. So, i can see where AI advancement is obviously needed in many games, however in many games going beyond a certain point(making the AI too realistic), would destroy the purpose, and fun, of the game itself. (Sorry i originally posted this in the wrong place)
