does anybody use non-free virus scanners on linux? i have clamv (with freshclam deamon to update the database) installed, just incase, all it took to install was to open synaptic, find it, click it and press apply.
i wouldn't want a 'skinned' memory-hogging (read: commercial like) virus scanner anyway, even if it was free and Free.
You cant fine foreign ISP's, but you can block them. If all of american ISP's blocked a particular foreign ISP for a month, that ISP would lost a lot of customers (therefore money).
i'd guess that anybody working at redhat (eg. alan cox) would quit, they wouldn't have a hard time getting jobs at suse (especially since suse would take that opportunity to grow into redhats market)
does this look like windows 98? this is the baghira theme of kde.
i think kde looks a hell of a lot better than 98 or xp.
there's far more functionality in kde than windows 98 too - ever heard of the kio slaves? i took a screenshot, then saved it to my ftp server, as though it was on my local hard disk. you can use kio slaves for many different protocols, including ssh and ftp.
If there were any holes in khtml from kde 3.1 and apple did fix them, we'd know about them, as with kde. i dont remember any security holes in khtml for a while.
no browser renders the web according to the standards. have you ever tried writing a website to work across all browsers?
even safari (the only browser so far to pass acid2) doesn't render according to standards - they had to hack the code to make it render the parts of the standards that acid2 touched on (not the entire standard).
i'd just like to be redundant and agree with you here. IE is *awful* at rendering CSS according to specs. I'm not sure about tables for layout - ive not tried that for a very long time.
perhaps if the firefox concentrated on good code rather than a good app, they wouldn't have as many security holes.
remember, any security holes that were in konqueror from 3.1 (when apple forked) would have been fixed by apple, in apples security updates and we'd have heard of them

4: Enter root password
5: Click search
6: Enter search terms
7: Tick box next to selected application
8: Press apply
natwest pissed me about, so i changed banks to halifax - thats much better.
I already knew it was better because my gf could do her online banking (halifax) with opera 7 in linux.
hmm, ive just read it and its a bit different to a few months ago. ah well, they dont let you use opera 8 so sod em.

ok, fair enough, i wasn't aware of any.
i know they dont share the entire codebase and holes/bugs in khtml may not be in safari and vice versa.
by them sharing code, i mean they both still have code from before the fork (khtml from kde 3.1)
About damn time, another artificially produced drain on the common mans pocket toppled.
now if only somebody would get rid of those damn fluffy animals....
put this in your /etc/hosts (or your progra~1\intern~1\hosts.txt iirc), not sure about firefox on windows

my point is - ive not heard of any holes in safari or khtml recently, have you?
safari still shares a large amount of its code with khtml too (as a guess)
dont modern soundcards come with a digital in/out? spif or something, although im not sure.

ok, i'l rephrase.

isn't the broadcast flag unconstitutional because it infringes on fair rights. hopefully, this wont stand up in court.
i wonder why the hardware manufacturers aren't standing up to the mpaa though.
MSDN is probably based on the standards so they can say "look, we're being good and following standards, no anti-trust for us".
Thats my guess anyway.
firefox does not render the web according to a standard. check this test if you dont believe me:

Firefox has a bug, deal with it.

for those who cant be bothered parsing that:
so you mean all i need to become super-duper 'leet' is a baseball bat?
its 3 (Yes three) cores on a single PowerPC chip (with each core running at 3.2 GHz.
bloody fast, but not as fast as 3 (Yes three) seperate processors.
Plus its 'custom' so its probably not as fast as a 3.2GHz G5 would be (although it may be faster, but im guessing not)
