the speaker, at least, produces next to know heat. A small amplifier wouldn't produce a signifigant amount of heat, but the wattage needed to drive a speaker as loud as the fan (which, as far as i know, is essentially whats going on -- inverting the sound wave and playing it back at the same volume), is almost negligable (i don't feel like doing the math).
my actual point was that, for game makers to make money (their motivation in developing games), they'll either have to offer countless versions, or cut out portions of the community (assuming they want to stay closed source, and thus able to make money on sales). the other option is pay-to-play multiplayer, which would allow an open source client (and make hacking the client even easier).
Oh, i do compile everything. i just don't have to enjoy it. its like saying, damn - why doesn't microsoft make a decent operating system? it'd be nice if they did, but its about the same as a kittens chance of survival on the doberman planet
Develop games for linux? on what processor? x86? And then someone will bother porting it to work well enough on PPC, Sparc, or what have you? You think linux users are marginalized, try being a linux user on a non-x86 platform... not that i'm bitter, mind you. i love having to compile almost everything.
My home school district has been thowing out classics and SE's for a few years now. I take em home (from our dump), figure out which ones work, and which ones don't. the good ones find homes or sit around looking pretty, and the busted ones get modified. howver, there reaches a point where you have a bit too much nostalgia (this comes when you can't lie down on your bed becuase you didn't have anywhere else to cram that 6500)
Wait... something should be handled like the drug war? that highly succesful siphoning off of american tax dollars that accomplishes next to nothing? If it was handled as such, i wouldn't be suprised if spammers starting simply directing minors to do the actual spamming, much like the crack dealers that recruited under-age dealers because they wouldn't get the same jailtime.
As far as I can tell, the Phantom outdoes Apple - not only do they not give you a floppy drive, they don't give you any option for inserting physical media aside from swapping the 'storage device' (I guess. I mean, it claims to be upgradeable). So it seems that they're offering An intel box (up to 3.0 gHz) intel processor (or at least an intel motherboard), with a 100 gig internal drive, a keyboard, mouse, wireless controllers, news, chats, parental controls, and pay per play. so its pretty much a crippled PC? in a shiny, software rendered box? but it has wireless and always on broadband! i didn't have broadband before. dude - buying this thing'll give you broadband!// end drunken ramble
Could be an AT-PT (all terrain personal transprt), which showed up in the Black Fleet book series. pretty much an old republic AS-ST for a single person. Strictly non-canon, as far as i know, although it ended up in one of the books printed with vague ship specs and technology.
How bout Ray Liotta, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, Lee Majors... oh, and Debby Harry, Jenna Jameson, and Danny Trejo? all of those actors were voices in GTA:VC
actually, i saw thsese (or something nearly identical) at the last years mac expo in NYC. the guy was selling combinations of... 1-4 15 inch LCD's, and had weird buttons on each display taht i couldn't figure out what they did (probably switched source, but couldn't tell). the same company was selling modified g4 x-serves with dual pwer supply and some other expensive toys.
next to no. fucking engrish paper eating my brain. this is a bad sign.

Its actually used on some heavy earthmovers and tractors simply because its actually cheaper than making a decent muffler.

Obivously. And windows is the chosen platform, and you are the official bearer of the asshat.

next you'll want a beowulf cluster of them.
things to add to below market rates: insane perks.

Apple doesn't give (at least salesfloor grunts) a commision on sales, although they do link numbers of sales to employees.
