FCC should not make stupid regulations like that, these kinds of technologies should be driven by market demand, but I guess concept of free market is a no-no with fcc...
I really like JavaScript, however when I did complicated things with it, I ran into a some problems with Memory Leaks in IE. Getting rid of which was not that easy in some case, thankfully there are tools like Drip http://outofhanwell.com/ieleak/index.php?title=Mai n_Page I guess some of these things were fixed with IE 7...but you know it was not fun.
