Yeah, except that your average user doesn't have any idea what beta means... I think they release things as beta so that if it doesn't work out, they can withdraw it without a fuss because "oh, it was only beta."
Wonder what made Yahoo decide on choosing these two terms as ends of the spectrum. IMHO, it excludes a variety of other intents that people use search engines for.
Along these lines, why have a slider at all? Definitely a neat idea, but I don't seem myself ever putting the slider anywhere but at either end, or maybe in the middle. I think it would be more useful to have a bunch of checkboxes, one for each type of site you want to search for, and you could just check the different kinds of sites you want to see. That way they could incorporate different classes of sites other than shopping and research.
It's not practical. First of all, it would be easier and more effective to just remove the unwanted artifacts manually in the first place. Secondly, if you are going to go around re-drawing things in the cartoon, well then, gee, you might as well just re-draw the whole cartoon... I'm sure the original artists would not be pleased with that. It would be like someone trying to restore The Last Supper by repainting over the problem areas.
This problem is analogous to digital sound restoration. You can use digital hiss and pop reduction techniques, but in the end you lose some of the stuff you are trying to save. It's impossible to put it back. I'd rather listen to a hissy old recording than one that's been "restored" and sounds hollow.
There are people in this country who can't afford to eat three decent meals a day. And congress, who's salaries we pay, is spending real, actual time worrying about how these people are going to watch TV.
Maybe I'm just being naive, but I don't see why congress needs to give a crap about analog TV being around. Let the market decide when it's time to switch over to digital.
Second off, we should create only single passenger cars as talking to other people in the vehicle requires you to be actively involved in conversation
I think there is a difference here. When someone is in the car with you, they are sharing the same driving experience with you. This means when a situation comes up that requires your full attention (a busy intersection or a car pulling out in front of you for instance), they'll pause the conversation just as you do, to allow you to concentrate on the situation. However someone on the other end of a phone doesn't have a clue what is going on so they will just keep jabbering away, stealing some of your concentration. Whether you like it or not, this is very distracting.
It definitely has less suction than a big vacuum, but it still cleans surprisingly well. This is largely because it goes over the whole room multiple times in one cleaning. I don't think it would work too well on really thick rugs though.
I've had one for a few months now and for someone like me who is always either too busy or too lazy to vacuum, it's pretty awesome. I run it every few days and my apartment sure looks clean.
That doesn't matter. If customers think they'll lose their money to a bot if they play online, then they'll stop playing. Less customers = less profit.
Well, try to remember (I know this is hard sometimes) that this company is trying to make money. I'm sure they understand the physics of their airplane rides, but to the general public "Zero Gravity" sounds a lot more exotic and exciting than "Free Falling."
You can't blame them for trying to market their product.
uh, yah, that's why they made the Panama Canal dude.

However the cool factor would be much lower...
