Well I have 2 tattoos, one on each wrist, and semi-long hair. It doesn't seem to make a shred of difference in my line of work, and I deal with new clients all the time. I think most people really respect what you do in IT and not so much how you look. I treat people with respect and I think I get it back most of the time, if not, I ALWAYS earn it when I walk out of that server room to tell everyone that the problem has been taken care of.
If we start judging people because they have tattoos or piercings we might as well go back to judging them by the color of their skin.
