My friend, a pro at hardware, helped me build my computer. First i must tell that he was a pro at assembling boxens with Intel processor and it was the first time he was handling AMD processors. He stuck the cpu fan as he would do with Intel processor. When powered up the machine would get as far as POST and reboot. We thought that the RAM was faulty and we cannibalised his computer RAM, but with the same results. It went on for about 2 - 3 hours. Finally he gave up and we took the mother board, ram, processor with fan mounted reverse to the guy who sold us the hardware. The hardware guy in the store suddenly started shouting at us. Only then we realised that the fan was mounted in the other direction. Somehow we managed to pry apart the fan from the processor and remounted it.
Till this day ( more than 8 months ) i have had no problem with my processor.
you underestimate the stupidity of certain governments..
How about this Vr3 (http://www.softfield.com/vr3.html) cheap at 100$ and runs linux!
