Expression does not need to be art. A textbook is governed by the same laws as a painting. Trying to portray code as art only weakens our argument - simply because it is debatable.
Code is an expression of an idea of goal...or algorithm. I write code to work toward a goal, or to demonstrate to you how to logic your way there. We need a good definition of the word "expression".
Is an "expression" simply how I convey something in my mind to another person?
I seconds this. Spread is a pretty nifty way of doing reliable and fast multicast of data. Very nice for writing distributed network software (depending on your goals.)
It was a Bloom County. Steve Dallas was giving advice on who to sue after Sean Penn broke his back for taking his picture. Sean Penn? No, too dangerous. Opus? No money. "Never sue people with no money." Sue the camera company...
From what I've heard, Exchange and Outlook work very well together. The problem is when you introduce heterogenaety into the network.
It depends on how many people will actually migrate to Outlook, and if you will have some contingent that still uses any other mail client than Outlook.

I think you mean "shuffled off of its coil"...the Monty Python ref is to the Bard, abbrev. from shuffling off one's mortal coil, Hamlet I believe...
Mr. Adams, One of my favourite books of yours is Last Chance to See. I'm not certain, but I believe it is the only non-fiction book you have written.
I know that you are now pretty occupied at The Digital Village, but are you likely to write another non-fiction book? LCTS was very effective in waking the reader to the reality of the dying species in the world, and an interesting adventure to read besides.
What if there were a lot of moles? And whacking a mole didn't do anything?
Step 1: Create free web based email account. i.e. hotmail.
Step 2: "Make" website at one of the many free (20M) website factories, i.e. geocities, fortunecity etc., using the email addy from step (1).
Step 3: Mirror whatever it is the authorities are trying to halt there.
Bonuses: each email address can get you many such sites on any given server. Most of these sites even subscribe themselves to search engines for you.
WARNING: This could be considered a form of attack. You are lying about who you are, and you are taking up room on a companies servers with possibly illegal software.
DISCLAIMER: This is just an idea. Don't blame me if anyone actually goes and does this.
Interesting. Is manditory telecommuting something that happens often? I'm not in the common business world, and admit an ignorance as to companies' telecommuting policies.
It seems that you shouldn't be able to have it both ways.
If you work at work, they have a responsibility to provide a suitable environs for you to work in. Perhaps there is a tradeoff if you wish to work at home?
Or, let's look at it this way. What if OSHA said that a business had to provide a reasonable working environment somewhere. The company doesn't want to pay for the desk, chair, and whatever widgets they have for your use at the company as well as the ones you have at home. That is not cost efficient. But you could have a reasonable chair (perhaps the same ones the company buys) and similar ergonomic benifits at home provided you did not have them at work. You are responsible for transporting the company's goods from one place to another. They are, in effect, checked out.
If you work more at work, you may just for get the whole thing, while if your office at work is more or less where you store things, and you do the bulk of your work at home, you go buy a cheap chair somewhere so when you have to do something at work, you have somewhere to sit.
Really though, I liked that licence. What we don't need is a book that on the last page...
Okay. I think we all get the implausability of the not know ahead licence.
This is a foolish move on their part - US law is not going to allow any agreement that you cannot examine in any way ahead of time. You need to know a) that you are making a decision, and b) what the criteria is.
What is foolish about this is the same as any other legalism that is weak and unenforceable. It can weaken the law overall, and is a waste of legal jargon that could better serve us in a litterbox.
Geez, someone mod this up. First real piece of info I've heard from adobe's side.
Milo Minderbender would buy eggs at 3c and sell them at 2c. (maybe it was 5/3, whatever)

Friend of mine worked there this summer. From what I've heard, they've pretty much gone the way of win2k.
Can anyone confirm/deny this?

I didn't even know that MS Exchange ran on sun.
Does it?
Or will you have to mirgrate everything to NT?
Just as a clarification. Marconi wasn't the first to invent radio. Nikola Tesla did.
You want to see who they are?
You want to contact them?

I may well be wrong.

Yeah - and unless I miss my guess, the engines themselves are exchangable.
One of my future projects is to buy an old vw microbus and swap in a high end porsche engine...
Surprise the heck out of people when the light turns red...
A thought experiment:
