Am I the only one here who noticed that they refer to "the Fallen path of Knowledge"? Christianity appears to frown upon learning, which is one of the greatest virtues in the world. Learning is not against God!
The PSX2 may be ahead of current game hardware, but remember, it's not even available yet. By the time it's released in Japan, there will be chips well in excess of 1GHz, and at LEAST one new generation of graphics cards. Also, keep in mind that the PSX2 will be on the market for a few years. By the end of that time, it will be a joke compared to PCs, just as the PSX1 is not even comparable to a PIII with a TNT2U. Consoles are always somewhat more advanced when they are released, but the PCs *always* catch up and pass them. ALWAYS.
Now the interesting question is, what happens when they kill you? Or did he make you invulnerable at the same time? I don't know about any of you, but I wouldn't like to be killed *in an operating system*, even one that looked like Doom.
It may be that most people agree with them, but that doesn't mean they can be posted and people with differring beliefs can be refused the right to post their beliefs. Merely because a majority of people believes in them doesn't make them more right than any other belief system. Posting them in schools without granting other religions the right to post their beliefs is religious discrimination. A quote comes to mind, "In America, you are free to worship Jesus in any way you want to."

I fail to see the purpose in keeping children innocent as long as possible. Humans as a species are not innocent. As long as we have id and ego innocence will not be part of us. I knew about sex so long ago I can't even remember not knowing it, nor where I learned it. NO ONE should be innocent, but of course, neither should they be immoral. However, it is necessary to consider: what will happen when your perfect innocent girl gets to high school and some jock gets a date with her, and she can't understand that letting him sleep with her is bad, since the first she heard of it came from him, and he will of course say there's nothing wrong with it? Innocence is dangerous over the age of 4.
Going to school is an activity of questionable benefit. Children are taught to sit down, shut up, and be good little sheep. I never got much out of school, with the exception of a few parts of high school (I'm about to be a senior). Ditto for "Running around outside like mad." What about intellectual development? The benefits in modern society of reading a novel a day at a young age and having vast stores of data are greater than those of having a good body. The Nazi regime in Germany stressed physical fitness over intelligence, as it made them easier to control if they couldn't think for themselves. I see disturbing corrollaries between that and the emphasis on sports over academics in schools. Homework is a copout, parents frequently complain that schools don't assign enough, as they use it as a way to avoid having to do anything with their children, they just tell them to go up to their rooms and do their homework. This allows the parents to do whatever they want and not have to think about the children. Putting "Seeing the rest of the family" at the bottom of the priorities is twisted. Family is THE single most important factor in raising a child. I was raised in the same society as everyone else, but because of how I was raised effectively all adults think I'm one of the best teenagers they know. Granted, part of this upbringing was not having TV for a while, but I more than made up for it with computer usage. I was gurgling on my mother's lap watching her program in FORTRAN. The idea that this has adversely affected me more than a somewhat out of shape body is ludicrous, and face it: in today's society, isn't it better to be technologically savvy than have a great body? Just look at the nubmer of people who make their livings off their body and compare it to the number who make their livings off their mind. I am apalled that baby fishface would place the most important aspect of a childhood at the bottom of the priorities, and the least important at the top!
if linux never becomes mainstream, it will remain hard to obtain compatible software. it IS better than windows, and so taking a huge chunk of ms's market share would be a good thing. the only people who will complain about this are those who cant bear to do anything anyone else is and feel the need to think theyre better than everyone else because they use an unpopular os. (by unpopular, i mean not standard and recognized by a mojority of the population.)
at last now normal (l)users will have access to linux, without having to install it themselves, which many are scared to do. this could bring more support and software if it proves to be a popular option. i just wish diabloII was going to support linux.
... almost everyone was in a relationship, including me. Now we're going on to another year, and the same situation will be present. The next generation of hackers will stop a lot of this nonsense. In our class we had a senior who was captain of the swim team, two guys from the track team (I am one of them), and two martial artists. The teacher is also Director of Athletics. These people are also more than competent at computer skills, it's not like this school has a CP class full of jocks, at least not except for the level 1 class that gets taken for easy credit. The world will see this generation of hackers/nerds/geeks differently.
Excuse, maybe not. But would you like to live in a world where any mistake follows you for your entire life and no one ever forgives you for it? Everyone screws up sometimes. If redemption is impossible, what's the point of continued life after making your first mistake?
