I just hope that the Chris Cunningham directed Neuromancer movie is actually released. Anyone who has seen any of his music videos for Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, or Leftfield can attest to the fact that he has an amazing and unique style which would fit Neuromancer like a glove. And if William Gibson has full confidence in him, which he does, I have no doubts as to the fact that he can pull it off. My only concern is that the film may never be completed, as it seems to be in limbo much like previous attempts.
You can't judge a console's graphics power by an opening video. That just shows that the system can play MPEGs. Instead, try looking at the games themselves. TTT's graphics aren't all that spectacular (I especially like the 2D backgrounds) when compared to most DC games, and DOA2 looks far better on the DC than its PS2 counterpart.
Is the quality good enough for use in a music studio? Minidiscs are certainly cheap enough, so if I could get away with using them instead of DATs, I would be most pleased:)
Don't Minidiscs use compression also? I heard that the first gen Minidiscs had horrid sound quality, and while they sound much better now, they still aren't CD quality. I haven't actually been able to test this, so can anyone verify?
