The truth is most of the deaths are gang murders. Black gangs, Hispanic/Latino gangs, and yes White gangs/motorcylce clubs etc. Its gang activity. Whether it's Jesse James and his gangs back in the day, or Al Capone and his ilk, or the bloods and crips and latin kings today its mostly gang activity. Trying to cast this on one race of people when its obvious that this is not the case is...well.. short sighted to say the least.

The problem is not the guns its the culture. plain and simple.

When you focus all your efforts only on Washington it gets lobbied against by Monsanto. Monsanto owns washington. Just look at the recent patent reform bill that was going to outlaw software-patents for example. MS, Apple, IBM, EMC, and Oracle lobbied hard against getting rid of software patents and so where are we now? Still stuck with software-patents. Likewise with lifeform patents. If I can avoid products where agressive litigious companies patent dominant species and go around suing then I will do just that and encourage everyone to do the same.

My problem with GMOs is the patents and the patent abuse. SOrry will not support GMO until the companies such as Monsanto stop abusing patents. Also i have a problem with the superweeds that are now cropping up as a result of drenching crops with roundup. Also when patented seed contaminates non GMO crops the non-GMO farmer has to pay Monsanto for a license or get sued out of business. Its the practices of the companies that turn me against it and until they stop i will avoid and tell everyone to avoid these patent encumbered crops. NO one company should be allowed to own all corn or all soybean because their patented crap has displaced natural crops.

And I will continue to warn everyone I know against purchasing GMO products until they are no longer patented and the companies stop abusing the patents. THe End.

Also I do agree with you in your previous post about the overreactions of the zero-tolerance-lets-not-think croud. Many examples of that such as the kid who shows up to school with plastic knives in the back of his moms car. She purchased the knives and forgot them in the car. THe kid drives car to school. The problem is though, as you hint, that left wingers are going to define "crazy". Already we see children being taken into custody for the act of play acting in schools.

Bite a pop-tart into the shape of a gun, and school officials call in the cops. Imagine that. Point a finger and say "POW", and you're marked for life as a crazy person prone to violence.

I suppose that some liberal will read your post, and mine, and be begging for the opportunity to drag us onto an analyst's couch.

MS has proven time and time again that they are sleeze. From usurping standards to running software patent extortion schemes. They do not play fairly in any market and never let their products stand on their own merit ever. Its always some form of coersion to get their products to dominate the marketplace from pressuring retailers, to pressuring manufacturers to block alternative OS on their hardware to enforcing that on arm devices etc.
