Its a 1981 first gen RX-7. Peripheral ported 12A 2rotor (smallblock) motor 1.1lr, Borg Warner(tractor trailer) turbo trimmed running E85 fuel. The motor was peripheral ported. The motor was also pinned because they tend to twist/warp once you go above 500HP. The car went on an extreme diet to shave 600lb from the stock body weight including carbon fiber front clip. Its still a street car though. Bear in mind though the 4rotor you mentioned produces 600Hp normally aspirated out the box. The 761 Dyno run was at 37psi boost. We plan to upgrade to a 3 rotor eventually I already sourced the engine. BTW E85 is awesome magic fuel, after a run the engine still feels coool to the touch and it allows the boost to be pushed way up and run the engine leaner without detonation.

When I go to the track with mine and open the hood all the V8 drivers are ready to race. They see the tiny engine and just know they are going to spank it. When reality sets in and the big V8 gets spanked properly by my 1.1 liter rotary engine (in a Jap car) they start screaming about how rotaries suck and power to weight and blah blah but they lose. What they don't know is that I am squeezing 761HP out of a 1.1 liter in 1700 lb car. I am quick to tell them that it is a 1.1 liter engine though. And yes they are loud as hell not quieter. And I have never had an engine blown while racing. Build it properly and don't lean it out and you wont blow it that easily. I have seen rods go flying out of piston engines and catastrophic blower disasters from V8s though and yes waiting for those to clean up can be a drag.

If you dislike what is available in Apple's store or you have some philosophical disagreement with the way they do things, you are free to buy some other device.

And therein lies the rub. So Joe Public goes and buys a car, Takes it to the gas station to fill up and discovers that the pump at the gas station does not fit his car so he has to go to the dealer to fill up. Well he can just purchase another car right?. In the mean time people are running out to purchase these fancy new cars in droves, lines around the dealership and all. This fancy car is getting very popular. Eventually the Apple car company controls the marketplace and sells more mobile cars than any other single manufacturer. They influence the marketplace and the price of gas goes up up up. And your recourse is "You are free to buy some other vehicle" This is ridiculous.

I have no problem with what Apple restricts from being sold in their store. The problem is locking the device to only work with Apple's store and there is no other way to get content on the device without going through Apple's store.

The things I see mindless Apple drones fighting over themselves to defend Apple for are the same things they would bitch and scream about if say car companies did that with refueling. Double standard much?

This is about PUBLIC information. They would not even discuss what public patents were being violated. It is not common practice to sign an NDA to disclose public information. Sign a NDA to disclose to me what patents I am violating? And you think this is right? Patents filed are public and the reason for patents to begin with is to make information public. Forcing people to sign NDA so you can tell them which public patents are being violated is underhanded and egregious. I don't see how you can support this particular activity.

I quote Barnes And Noble statement on the matter below

At the meeting, Microsoft alleged that the Nook infringed six patents purportedly owned by Microsoft. Microsoft had prepared claim charts purportedly detailing the alleged infringement but insisted that it would only share the detailed claim charts if Barnes & Noble agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement (“NDA”) that would cover the claim charts as well as all other aspects of the parties’ discussions. Noting that the patents were public and that the infringement allegations pertained to Barnes & Noble’s public product, Barnes & Noble refused to sign an NDA. Insisting that an NDA was necessary, Microsoft discussed the alleged infringement on a high level basis only. Microsoft nevertheless maintained that it possessed patents sufficient to dominate and entirely preclude the use of the Android Operating System by the Nook. Microsoft demanded an exorbitant royalty (on a per device basis) for a license to its patent portfolio for the Nook device and at the end of the meeting Microsoft stated that it would demand an even higher per device royalty for any device that acted “more like a computer” as opposed to an eReader. After sending the proposed license agreement, Microsoft confirmed the shockingly high licensing fees Microsoft was demanding, reiterating its exorbitant per device royalty for Nook, and for the first time demanding a royalty for Nook Color which was more than double the per device royalty Microsoft was demanding for Nook. On information and belief, the license fees demanded by Microsoft are higher than what Microsoft charges for a license to its entire operating system designed for mobile devices, Windows Phone 7.

You completely miss the point. The NDA is required before even entering to negotiations. The NDA is about PATENTS which are public information. Telling people to sign a NDA so they cannot discuss public information is part of a delberate attempt to keep alleged infringement secret from the Linux community so that they can extort money from anyone that produces a Linux device or computer from TomTom to Buffalo to ACER and others. Your support for this egregious activity is telling.

Do you know what the patents are? How exactly are you qualified to call this extortion if you have no insight as to the facts of the situation?

What it is? Its a systematic campaign against open source code and free software in general and Linux in particular. What Microsoft is doing is using using software-patents to bludgeon open source and Linux. They have threatened for years now that if they find themselves losing in the marketplace they will sue successful open source projects out of the marketplace and the way to do so is with software-patents. And this is what they are doing.

I think what the OP is saying is that the tactics MS are using are akin to mobster-like tactics.

    Microsoft approaches open source company:-
Microsoft: "What a nice open source business you have here buy you know the marketplace is a dangerous neighborhood."
Microsoft: "You should pay us for protection."
    Store Owner: "Protection? from who?"
Microsoft: "Well...From us mainly, If you don't pay us for protection you will face our massive legal department and endless lawyer fees."
Microsoft: "Oh and sign this NDA you cannot discuss the details with anyone get it."

The difference between Microsoft's tactics here and those of a Mobster is mobsters threaten to shut you down with violence.
Microsoft threatens to do that by driving you bankrupt in court.

The end result is the same.

What Microsoft is doing is running a campaign to own other people's code through software-patents. Even if your code is totally different from them you still have to pay them for protection. This is the future. look for Microsoft and Apple to continue this trend. Where will it end up? Could this lead to the patenting of full applications? I wish i knew the answer to that. They are already filing software-patents on features of applications so I guess its not out of the question.
