Thanks, I'll take that as constructive criticism. In my defense, for the few times I have noticed interesting news that isn't already on Slashdot and I was preparing a submission, I have worried more about providing relevant, interesting links and an accurate and reasonable summary. But the submission process starts with writing the headline, and editing is a low priority if you're trying to get it in first. Who knew? Journalism seems to be real work.
The only communications the government listened in on were calls FROM this country TO other countries. IF the call was routine, then it was dropped. IF the call was about terrorism, then your asses were protected from it. Got it?
Read the articles. The NSA program covers internal calls within the United States without a warrant.
That's why my computer room is lined with aluminum foil (faraday cage), and I don't use DVI! The government takes vE phreaking so seriously they developed TEMPEST.
Make it all wireless? What's the point, to make identity theft so easy that nobody's identity is trusted?
How fair is that? I check all my incoming phishing emails. One went to a tiny school district in Missouri. I thought some smart teenager had set it up, but then I noticed that all the collected info was sent to another site in Florida. I sent emails to the admins of both sites, and the Florida one wrote back in a couple of hours and said he had shut down the account. I don't know where it went after that (the email had originated in Romania), but I had succeeded in breaking one link in the chain, and alerted the Missouri webmaster that he had problems he needed to take care of- without crashing his system.
I'm not a great net guru, but I try and do my part. I send all phishing emails to uce@ftc.gov and reportphishing@antiphishing.org and to the abuse addresses at the hosting IP's. I know it would be better if all the "stupid" users could be educated to spot these things themselves, but that just isn't going to happen. We who know better should be doing more to stop this instead of laughing at the gullible.
I have the same problem? Anyone got a link?
My SysAdmin seeks out and removes non IE installations. A US gov advisory would go a long way in convincing him to back off.
