I'd have no problem with any of that except the Microshit components. Pretty soon $40K is going to look like a lot of money, even to greybeards like me. In fact, it's a good starting wage for a graduate, who should, unless they've been jerking off the whole 4 years, should already have come into contact with every open source product mentioned.
That your "way of life" is totally unprotectable? Because it's totally unsustainable, something that is obvious to a 5-year-old. (At least, any non-American five-year-old.)
No, Bush is hammered for what he stands for: A corrupt military industrial complex acting without conscience, bereft of any civilised values, killing indiscriminately, irretrievably damaging the planet, harming citizens both within its own country and without, acting illegally in every sphere (nationally and internationally), and lying about all of it, to everyone.
Plus, personally, he's a worthless, narcissistic, stupid, unpleasant, dishonest, inbred, bogus-Texan-aristocracy piece of shit. Karma's going to work nicely on him and his buddies.
Massive CIA presence in Australia as a strategic location.
Also, Australian and UK governments were fervent supporters of the war of aggression in Iraq (despite the fact that the public was overwhelmingly against it).
There are jobs around in Europe. For example, MySQL.com is always hiring, if you're top-notch.
If you're Brazilian you can even travel freely among the Schengen countries without a visa. (Unlike USA, Canada, UK, Australia, etc, who don't like Brazilians to visit).
If you're American, consider Canada as well. They're still reasonably sane, although of course along with Mexico threatened by loss of sovereignty through "NAFTA+". (The USA intends to co-opt Canadian water and oil resources this way. Come to think of it, they are likely going to attempt that in Brazil. Try that in Europe, fuckers.)
The next step is to skip the 'collecting evidence' part (since that's already been compromised) and move directly to fabricated evidence and show trials. Oh, wait, you already have that in Gitmo...
How can I keep all my communications out of the US, and out of the purview of your crazy government?
Sounds like a dumb question, doesn't it. But today, maybe not so dumb... Let's see what we have.
* Illegal rendition and incarceration of non-US citizens from non-US soil.
* Illegal wiretapping of, well, anyone, from anywhere to anywhere.
* Co-option of foreign intelligence services such as UK and Australia (huge CIA base at Pine Gap near Alice Springs in central Australia, remember - the existence of which is connected to overthrow of elected Australian government in 1975, with connivance of British Queen)
* And so on.
Jesus Christ. Memo to USA: Keep your filthy hands of non-US citizens. Get your filthy planes, tanks, warships, and troops off non-USA soil. And at least make some effort to treat your own citizens decently and constitutionally. Until then, you're not fit for civilised company. Over.
I won't speak for the rest of it, but there's a huge problem, IMHO, with these assertions:
1. Adobe could have an antitrust complaint against the purchase. - I just can't see what that would be. Anyone?
2. Buying Yahoo! does very much for Silverlight. How exactly? Silverlight is a threat to Flash by simply existing, because MS *already* has the great inertia of the incumbent monopolist. What has Webmail got to do with pushing Silverlight??
...in a typical medium format transparency (6x7cm) shot with a good lens (e.g. Mamiya Sekor). That's a careful assessment made by inspecting top quality drum scans. Yes, those lenses are expensive; up to $3K-4K new, but that's not just the optics - the lens integrates the leaf shutter (not focal plane, typical of consumer cameras).
For comparison, a 35mm film frame (24x36mm, iirc) carries about 15 Megapixels (there is wide consensus on this).
Bill had his day in court, and it didn't turn out so well. Just a pity there was no appropriate penalty applied for the damage that @*&$^% has done civilisation. And you can bet Microshit has killed quite a few, not to mention the monopoly impairing the quality of life of hundreds of millions... the lies and corruption are damaging honest people daily (look at the POXML war alone)... with no end in sight...

he has failed to protect our way of life

It's not like you would have gotten any cash out of it.
What's cash got to do with it?
his plans for spending will bankrupt us quickly
Would that be quicker or slower than kicking off a SIX-TRILLION-dollar war of aggression?
Where available...and all that.
Then there's the million-odd dead Iraqi civilians (men, women, children). But Bush-Cheney didn't much feel like counting those cadavers.
Canada did not and is not participating in the Iraq invasion. To do so would be a colossal moral failure.
They are participating in Afghanistan.

Then there's Bill Gates...
What he DOES is what counts, and this is what he did. This kind of behavior is what you take to the bank,
Absolutely!
It would be nice to see somebody showing backbone and/or principles occasionally.
denying law enforcements precious tools
wtf?
When you have a violent state (and the USA is violent on an unprecedented scale), how else are you supposed to deal with it?

The spying tools are today's state of the art.

How else can you communicate with a violent state! (like yours)

More here, here...
In fact, reptilian. A little too "old fashioned" to fit comfortably in a modern framework of civilisation, apparently.

He wasn't a murderer when it was written and named dumbass, it was named *before* he became a murderer by *years*.
Quite so. But the weaker minds around here can't seem to distinguish the code from the man...
Worked the last couple of times...
It's already a complete waste of time. Real work is done at HLL or VHLL level.
