is that a huge number of slashdot people seem to think that the design of a program is about "making it look purty."
Design should be about usability, the man/machine interface, and aesthetics should be subjugated to that end.
If you would bother to check out the products (this video for example -->
http://channel9.msdn.com/Showpost.aspx?postid=1153 87 ) you would see that their primary goal is to allow a REAL designer to work seperately from the code jockeys to do his job, further abstracting the UI from the backend of an application.
If you have never DESIGNED a huge GUI project then you will not appreciate the huge step forward that this represents.
If you have DESIGNED a GUI of any type and can not see what a leap forward this will be, I can only assume that you are among the legions of Microsoft supporters that throng to slashdot, or you really do not know the job of a designer.
What ticks me off.....if they had paid in cash, people would be bitching that the fine isn't big enough because of they have such huge cash reserves. A penalty is a penalty; it sets legal precedent for the next time. Eventually they will go to the well one time to many and then they pay the piper.
The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they do turn!
Bill Gates could walk across the water of the Pacific Ocean from Seattle to frailin' Tokyo and the SlashDot head line would read: "Bill Gates can't Swim"
....uhhh...goes without saying that you should boot from your cd....uh...if it goes without saying why am I saying it....I'm confused now!
most of the time a file has been crosslinked and corrupted. Boot to safe mode and run chkdsk on the system disk.
Uhhh...quartz is a codename used internally for the project.
This link gives you the name as it will be released.e fault.aspx

I would also like to say thank you for suggesting we clog the courts up with more time wasting lawsuits, further wasting my tax dollars.

Yes, but one of the goals of a CS department should be to produce programmers who are capable of doing work themselves.Guess that blows the extreme programming methodology right outta the water doesn't it.
I have fellow programmers scour my code on a daily basis. It's amazing what feedback like that can do to actually improve the quality of a product.
