  1. Re:These are all military terms on Your Strategic Plans Probably Aren't Strategic, or Even Plans (hbr.org) · · Score: 0

Very observant. After the big wars, many soldiers and sailors went back to work in the business world, and brought a lot of the military lingo, culture, and practices with them. Some would argue - to great benefit for the companies they started or went to. However, I do like your suggestions!

A shitload of free money in interest payments to banks and lenders.

Interest isn't free money, interest is what time costs.

Because the majority of media outlets, which weren't impacted by McCain-Feingold's limitations on pre-election opinion broadcasting, are run by editorial boards and staff that skew left. The Democrats truly enjoyed that un-infringed support. Simple as that.

That's because the media is overwhelmingly owned by the liberals. Riiiiight... http://read.bi/1g44Y8R

It won't. There is no such thing as a "free market." When people say, "free market," they are talking about unregulated capitalism. It could be loads of fun, like football with no referees.

  7. Re: Ethanol is just stupid on The Great Ethanol Scam · · Score: 2, Insightful

I've heard these arguments for most of my life, and from my experience, it's always been BS and unsupportable by facts. All you're selling is fear. The difference in efficiency between government and business is minimal--they operate in much the same manner. The difference is that businesses have to pay dividends to shareholders; governments must make a positive difference for their people.

I have never seen business make a drastic change for the better for an entire population. I _have_ seen governments do so, repeatedly. To better understand the situation, I recommend reading this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1576754634/ Flame away conservatives!

  8. Old Conservative Tactic -- Be Afraid! on The Great Ethanol Scam · · Score: 1

Sounds like the same old fear mongering we've been hearing from the right wing for the past 30 years. I agree with the majority of comments, this is nothing but BS designed to protect current markets.

  9. Dia-RIAA on RIAA, Safenet Sued For Malicious Prosecution · · Score: 2, Funny

Let's see... Dia- is a prefix meaning through or across. These lawsuits go through or across the RIAA. Sounds like DiaRIAA should be the term used to describe their attacks on people. :P

  10. Fear Mongering on Senator Warns of Email Tax This Fall · · Score: 1

"One irked Repubican Senator warns..." This is obviously fear-mongering hype from the party that can't stop lying about any topic that spills out of their mouth. Dick Armey blames it on the Democratic party's rise to power in Congress. Hmmm, does that surprise anyone?

"Recording" is a viable business. The manufacture, distribution, and sales of the recordings via physical media are no longer viable. It is an obsolete business model.
