Exactly. The price went up at the end of the contract, to $50/month. Personally, I've always paid $50/mo for my DSL. So I'm not complaining.
Netcom... Netcom's stuff was changed, as far as I understand, because the equipment was outdated at best, and just a total mess. As far as a 2 week downtime, that's bad. I wasn't around back then, so I'm not sure.
It does it with a middleman program to reroute the packets. ;)
