I won't. My parents have DirectTV (got it free when Heartland Wireless went away), and I despise it. I have everything there is on Dish when it comes to programming, and when I extrapolate my parents' bill out to match my programming, they pay quite a bit more than I do. Nope, I'll just stay put until the dust settles.
2am central, and the Viacom stations are off-line. You get nice Musak and a little message when you select one of them.
Sigh...
BTW...Spike is unaffected, and it looks like your CBS affilliate is gone, distant or not....dammit.
All the data that I have seen indicates that Spike TV is not going to be affected. It was not on any of the lists posted elsewhere on the board, so it looks like you may be good to go.
I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning when my daughter gets up and can't watch her Dora the Explorer. She is not going to be happy, to put it mildly.
My wife is aggravated because she actually enjoys VH1. (don't ask me why)
As for myself, as long as I keep on getting to see NASCAR, Speed Channel, History, Discovery, and Sci-Fi channels, I could care less what they chop out of the lineup. The music I listen to does not get played on the radio or TV anyway.
I suppose the jury is out for us whether or not we will lose the CBS affilliate we have. We get Dallas as a distant, and I have read elsewhere in the board that distant subscribers will not be affected. We shall see.
If you have not already, check out the little blurbs the CBS or UPN stations web pages have on them. Interesting bit of spin and a fine bit of appeal to emotion fallacy writing there.
Basically, my annoyance level will be driven not by the lack of stations, rather by listening to my family bitch about the lack of their favorite stations. Knowing my family, I'm not going to have a lot of peace until this mess is resolved.

Also...UPN distants are still on the air. Yay, I suppose.

Heh. Good one. :)
