  1. NY AG on Sony Agrees to Stop Payola · · Score: 4, Informative

Payola is nothing new. Anyone who is surprised that this is going on was just unaware that the practice has been around as long as radio.

My big question is this ... when is New York state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer running for a bigger office? He seems to have a knack for getting headlines with high profile cases that get everyone all fired up.

    From http://www.nynewsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/w ire/sns-ap-clinton-2006,0,1068438.story?coll=sns-a p-nation-headlines
the poll showed state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer continuing to hold a double-digit lead over the three-term governor in a possible matchup for the 2006 gubernatorial campaign.

  2. Re:If I leave my back door open... on Man Arrested for Using Open Wireless Network · · Score: 1

I am in no way justifying what this guy did, but hopefully it will highlight something to Joe Average and get them to lock their AP's down tighter

More than likely all this will do is inform Joe Average that he better hire a lawyer so he can sue anyone that uses his open AP.

  3. Re:Legal Betting.... on Best Buy to Eliminate Rebates · · Score: 1

The percentage of people who actually send in their rebates is somewhere between 8 and 11%

Really? Where do you get your numbers from? I have seen several people post these kinds of numbers but no one knows where they come from.

Oh wait, everyone knows that nobody sends in rebates ... I forgot.

  4. Re:Geek Squad on Best Buy to Eliminate Rebates · · Score: 2, Insightful

Why would a computer repair tech know anything about programming languages? The people at Geek Squad are techs. They replace parts, run virus/spyware scans and reinsall an occasional OS. Which part of this job requires knowledge of Perl? Why would you assume a PC tech would?
