The problem is that a Blu-ray disc simply costs more to produce than a dvd disc does and thats not going to change. The only reason they started out cheap was because Sony was subsidizing the costs. With hddvd gone so go the subsides.
Like I said before thats the point. Limited bandwidth works in their favor.
How long would you use a VoD provider if you couldn't watch them when you wanted to?
"Say you wanted to watch some movie off netflix express but you can't because its so slow, hey did you know comcast offers movies on demand why not our service and not have to worry about ever being slow. "
And this is what its all about.
Its not about the bandwidth, its about protecting their cable/Video on demand business. If they can put limits on your speed/transfer then they can effectively shut out other Video on Demand services from competing with them.
Sigh. Here we go marching along to thought crimes.
To a true pedophile a simple head shot of your daughter could be arousing should we ban all child photography?
You are buying into the hysteria/myth that pedophiles are lurking in the streets just waiting for the chance to take advantage of your kid, despite the fact that kids are usually victimized by friends and/or relatives.
But by all means let emotion overrule rational thought.
Blu-ray disc just cost more to make than dvd's. I doubt the studios make any more money off blu-ray than they do dvd's.

SO instead of just banning that test on the grounds that it is not accurate, they throw a bone to the big corps and ban all testing.

EC10 is dark matter.
1.5 is nothing. I filled that in just 2 days of Olympics in HD.
On a more rational board I would expect people to say the same thing about Vista.
