    Which is exactly what they are doing. IF the courts decide that homosexuals are actual human beings with the same rights as heterosexuals then the states have to afford them those rights.

    throughout history of the world the norm has been poligamy. Only recently did monogomy come to fashion. In recent american history it was also illegal for interracial couples to marry. CLearly the definition of marriage changes with time.

    God is unequivical on this manner. He states quite clearly and forcefully that homosexuals should be immeditately put to death. He does not state any legal protections such as trials or verdicts either. He simply says that you should kill homosexuals when you see them.

    Advocating anything else is against the will of god.

    They did that so the case would stay in state court. They felt it might be easier to win in state court then federal court.

    If they file for copyright violation they have to do it in federal courts.

    That's what judges are for. The judicial system is a counter to the legislative branch. It exists to assure liberty for people who are in the minority. America is a republic and not a democracy. Do you know what the difference is? A democracy is five wolves and a sheep arguing about what's for dinner. In a democracy the sheep dies, in a republic the sheep lives.

    Of course the 95% of the people who are straight don't want the 5% of the people who are gay to have the same rights as they do. Just like the 95% of the people who are white at one time didn't want the 5% of the blacks to have the same rights. In that case judges ruled that the majority was wrong and that the rights of the minority were guaranteed by the constitution. If the judges rule the same way for homosexuals then it's incumbent on the states to let them marry.

    The judicial system exists solely to balance the the other two branches of govt. Our forefathers accurately predicted that the majority would seek to opress the minority and set in place not only a constitution and a bill of rights but an entire branch of govt to make sure those documents held up and were the law of the land.

    No. Terrorists have been very specific about their complaints with the US. It's actually just a couple of long standing US policies and could very easily be changed.

    1) Support of corrupt arab dictators such as the saudi family, shah of iraq, saddam hussein.
    2) Unconditional support of israel, protection of israel from international law, funding israel in their support of the occupation of palestine.
    3) The presense of US troops on Muslim holy places.

    That's all. Nothing myterious or religious.

    P.S the crusades were initiated by the christians.

    No it won't end because we won't change our policies. Besides now that al-quada has laid out the blueprint everybody else in the world who has a grudge against us (gee isn't that just about everybody) is waiting in line.     What's weird is their claim.

    They don't dispute John Kerry served in vietnam. They don't dispute John Kerry saved a man's life. The only dispute they have is that people were not firing at John Kerry as he was saving some guys life. Oh and they don't dispute his other purple hearts either.

    If I was john kerry I too would keep comparing my record during the war to GW too. They both came from privledged families and yet one volunteered to go fight for his country the other pulled strings to get into the guard so he would not.

    Kerry and Bush have similar positions but only the dumbest of the dumb would claim that "letting the states decide if gay people should get married" == "let's amend amend our most sacred document to make sure gay people never get married".

    The editor is a dumbass for thinking those two positions are identical.

    Did the terrorists target canadians or the new zealanders? No. You know why? It's because everybody likes canadians and kiwis.

    The terrorists didn't attack us because we are free (so is most of the world) they attacked us becuause they hate us. They hate us because we do and have done terrible things to them. Sorry to be blunt but it has to be said.

    The fact that he likes to humiliate prisoners for no apparent purpose. Statistics show that crime rate have not gone down and neither is recivitism. So if his prisoners are just as likely as other prisoners to backslide and commit crimes why does he insist on humiliating them?

    No real reason. he likes it and so the people of arizona. All americans like humiliating prisoners and seeing them suffer horribly. It's in our culture. Abu Graib was no accident nor was it out of norm with standard american morals.

    There are no generic drivers. There are drivers included in the windows CD but those are still written by the company that made the product, not MS.

    Since it has been shows that he has not reduced the crime rate he just seems like a sadist who got a ton of human beings to play with. He humiliates them and gets off on his absolute power over these people.

    Probably all for the better though. If he did not have prisoners to torment god knows what kind of a sadistic psycho he would have turned out to be.

    It sure sounds like he is having fun though and the people of mericopa seem to be having fun vicariously too.

    When Rumsfeld was expressing his *shock* and *indignation* about the prisoner absue photos he kept saying "this is does not represent American values" and such crap. Of course everybody knows that's a lie. We Americans love that shit. We are glued to any television show that purports to humilitate somebody and of course all of our movies involve heavy doses of violence.

    I am afraid this is just the tip of the iceberg. Look for far worse to come down the pike.

    How about making computing available to as many people as possible even the poor. I guess that's not a good enough goal for you. There is an entire world for whom a $100.00 for an operating system is a half years salary.

    Standard are not laws. Nobody is going to break your legs if you don't obey the standards. MS routinely ignores standards and nobody has locked up Bill gates. Having said that companies like standards. It means they are not locked to one vendor.

    That has nothing to do with Microsoft or linux and everything to do with the maufacturer of the printer.

    The manufacturer printer is just as capable of writing drivers for linux as they are for windows. They choose not to do that. If I bought a printer and it didn't work with my OS I would take the printer back and get another one but then that's me.

    Other people will just whine on slashdot and blame it on the operating system.
