According to the article, n1 selling bottled water in US is "Aquafina", which is also purified tap water...
More interesting is that "Aquafina" is the also name of the government company that filters all sewage water in Belgium.
Except for the fact that a calorie isn't the official measurement for energy, it's the Joule.
So that would be: heat 1000 grams of mass 1 degree Kelvin, it will cost you 4186 joules..
IANAP, but
radiometric meting wouldn't work either, because those things only work for stuff found on earth.
The ammount per total mass of isotopes in a specimen is compared to the ammount per total mass of other object on earth of which we know the age for sure. So, for a meteorite, it wouldn't work, I guess.
I'be heard that too, actually, while I was there a couple of years ago. I've visited ancient Thera, which was said to be some part of Atlantis. Its beginnings predated the Minoan civilisation, and I was quite developed fot that time. However, since almost the whole island was gone during gigantic volcano eruption, there wasn't many left.
(the eruption was also said to have caused the end of the Minoan culture on Crete)
