Last time I tried Safari on Windows - it was terrible. But when comparing OS X versions of Firefox and Safari, I actually prefer the letter one. The only thing that's missing is extensions. So, obviously, many people who use OS X do care about development of both Firefox and Safari.
I bet you haven't really thought that many people speak and write different languages and those people also want to use different keyboard layouts.
I use russian and finnish layouts and I am also going to learn japanese, so I probably going to learn one more layout soon.
LCD keyboard would be a life saver for me and my family.
Optimus is (as far as I know) first of it's kind, and as with many new things, it costs a way too much for most people. Bug give it a few years and we will probably see similar technology for affordable prices.
The hardware developers somehow see this need to provide the software themselves, instead of taking advantage of the community, but then go and do a shoddy job of it. So what is the reason why won't they let community do their own drivers as well? Would hardware manufacturers lose something on that?
WTF!? Ubuntu is based on Debian, not Red Hat. My english isn't very good, but I think that you have misunderstood that phrase. What they say is that Ubuntu is one of the next successful distributions that came after Red Hat. They are not saying that Ubuntu came out of or is based on Red Hat.
Another thing is that Linux (or the BSD's) can be downloaded off the internet, while Windows requires that you buy a fresh new disk packaged in cardboard and plastic wrap. Clearly if everyone could download software and not use the packaging, that would save a lot of resources. What you say is not entirely true.
Windows does not require you to buy the actual package with CD/DVD, if you choose upgrade. You can actually buy a downloadable Windows upgrade from Microsoft's website.
Of course this is not an option if you are coming from non-Microsoft OS, but generally most computer users, those who would buy Windows anyway, can use this download service.
Then again, I don't know how many actually want to download it instead of having a DVD in a shiny box.
Perhaps there'll be a game in which players need to learn a new language? Talk about replay value. That'd be awesome though.
Hah! I have been playing those games for 10 years now.
Thank God no one is translating games to Finnish, or else I wouldn't able to write this reply now.
Sorry about going slightly off topic. Is it just me or WMV just works with MPlayer or VCL on Linux? At least I never had any problems watching WMV on my Gentoo using one of those programs.:) Maybe I am just not aware of some WMV variations that are not supported?

- Bootable ISO creation
So far it supports Windows 2000, XP and 2003.

My mistake, didn't read the whole article, where it says "Of course, there are still .WMV files that don't play well in Mplayer". :$

>In fact the only thing I think windows has going for it is Photoshop.
I am using Photoshop 7 on Linux without any problem. Try Wine.
