Well, now that Dan says it's ok to run linux at home, I think I'll convert everything... wait... I don't have any windows machines at home... When Dan says it's ok to shoot people you don't like, are you going to do that too? As a desktop, stick to what you like. If you want to know more about *nix, go for it.. but for the love of all that is sane, use a 'standardized' distribution of linux. Common one is Red Hat who has their 9.1 out right now. read books, read forums, IRC rocks. First timer talking about emerging..
Does gentoo sound like a good idea for a first timer to be compiling bootstrap from stage 1?
