Hey, your "usage patterns" made me smile... I cannot moderate you "Silly", so "Funny" will have to do it.

    3. Japan had phones that did all that - 10 years ago.
Yeah, right. Japanese mobile phones suck big time! Only from last year there are smartphones here. And only 2-3 models. With battery life of about 2h! Koreans are way more advanced in mobile phone technology. And if by "advanced phones" you were thinking of Samsung and LG ... well, these are not Japanese companies :p
  3. The global appeal of World of Warcraft?! on WoW - The Game That Seized the Globe · · Score: 1

I have yet to find a Japanese guy (and I'm working in an IT company in Tokyo) that knows about WoW. The only MMORPG they know about - *if* they are into games - is Final Fantasy XI. But we all know that Japan is another planet so "global" is still not enough ... Waiting for WoW to have "galactic appeal"...

Actually me and my wife are successfully practicing this sport :)

We found turn based RPGs to be very good for playing them together. You don't have to rush while playing and there is always time to think and talk about what to do next, what weapons, items, potions to buy. And so on...

We are just finishing Dragon Quest 8 (for the 2nd time). And we've played together through most DQ and Final Fantasy titles for PS2. And FF12 has just been launched in Japan (where we're living) so more fun is on its way!

As long as there is no blogger.jp then you can expect msnblog.jp (or whatever name they'll come up with) to have a HUGE success. Of course you should count in the power MS has in Japan (I'm living&working here so I know what I'm talking about), their marketing machine, and the extremely positive feedback the marketing campaigns usually get from Japanese people. They just have to hire some TV personalities, idoru and alike who will tell people that "broggin' is cool!" and that's it! ;)
