I'm glad I go to a club where the DJs aren't super-busy as you suggested above.

A friend and I are usually out on the floor the longest and quite happy to stop and angrily stare at the DJs when they are doing bad or grin and go crazy when they're doing awesome.

At my favourite club this has caused quite an energy exchange. The DJs know us there, and they try psyche us up if we're drooping down, or try for harder music, etc. We're like consistent test-subjects they can use to determine how the crowd is going to behave (we do reflect the crowd). They even ask us how their set was afterwards, etc. And it's this reason alone that I still go to the club to this day -- the duality between the DJs and dancers.

Now I wouldn't go so far as asking for a particular track on one of those LED phones, but I'd certainly like to be able to write a 'THANK YOU!' / 'HARDER :) !' across the air!

Did you e-mail or contact Dell to try and make a deal? With Dell's support of Linux drivers on their site, tech support on it, etc. I'm quite surprised you found hassles with them. In fact, I spoke to someone that phoned Dell up because he was having problems with getting RH to support some Dell laptop features (I think it was that 'I' button) and they put him onto the 'Linux Guy' who answered his questions.

For people like me that made the big switch and decided they didn't completely like Linux (I couldn't find any editors that are as easy to use as Visual Studio .NET, even if the shell makes development easier), this means we hopefully get to plug the components in each OS that we want to use.

A far more noble cause is to do (or help out with) what the GnuWin32 people are doing (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/). It certainly makes it a lot easier to integrate tools like Bison / Flex into your Windows project without having the Cygwin bloat.
