I agree. IT workers should have input on things that should be blocked for technical reasons (e.g.,known malware sites), but where I work management tells the IT folks what to block for non-technical reasons (gay furry porn). Not saying I'm in agreement with management's idea of what should be blocked--my point is that they call the shots and IT folks push the buttons. Oh, and they live by the same rules.
Menu latency at least is customizable via setting HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop\menushowdelay. XP defaults to 400 (ms). I use a value of 1. Going to zero has wierd effects...
One possible advantage would be the feasibility of doing mailbox (brick-level) restores. Exchange has no native support for this, so if some PHB want's an email from last year restored, you get to build a brand new server, install Exchange on it and do a complete restore of the entire database. I know because my mail guy is doing it as we speak:(
I don't know about Zimbra, but I'm be surprised if it was as poorly designed.
A friend of mine brought his old Etch-A-Sketch over the other day for my kids to play with. I started wiping off what I thought was regular dust from the screen with my finger, which soon took on a hazardous-looking bright silver sheen. Obviously this thing was leaking.
Does anyone know what the silver granules were that they used in these things? Some sort of magic lead or mecury derivative? Needless to say, my kids never saw the toy...
a significant reduction in the SPAM they're receiving? At our organization (2500+ employees) the number of SPAMS went down by about 1/3 the day after this sentencing, and has stayed down ever since. Coincidence?

I back mine up to HDD and rsync it to my inlaws' place on Cape Cod.

They should just concentrate on their core competency: changing horses in midstream
